FAQ

Questions about Kite in Thailand, answered

Is Kite available in Thailand?
Yes. Kite is available to residents of Thailand. To get the card you need to be 18 or older and complete KYC in the app. We then issue a virtual Visa you can add to Google Pay.
What documents do I need to complete KYC?
Pick the option that matches your documents, you only need one: 1) your Thai National ID Card, or 2) a passport plus proof of address (a recent bank statement, utility bill, or tax bill). A quick selfie check completes it.
Why do we ask for proof of address with a passport?
A passport confirms who you are, but it doesn't show where you live. A recent bank statement, utility bill, or tax bill fills that gap. If you verify with your local ID card, which already includes your address, you can skip this step.
Is the Kite Stable Card a crypto card or a stablecoin card?
It is a Visa card powered by stablecoins. You load it with USDC or USDT and the balance is held in US dollars, not in a volatile token. That is the difference from a typical crypto card. Your spending power does not swing with the market once funds are on the card.
How much does the Kite Stable Card cost in Thailand?
There is no annual fee and no cost to issue or maintain the card. You pay 0.53% to move USDC or USDT onto the card, nothing extra on US dollar spends, and a flat 1.8% on spends in baht or any non-dollar currency. We cover the network gas on every transaction.
Can I withdraw baht from an ATM with Kite?
Not yet. ATM withdrawals are coming soon to Thailand. For now you can spend your balance anywhere Visa is accepted, online and in stores through Google Pay.
How do I send money to Thailand with Kite?
Someone sends USDC or USDT to your Kite wallet address and it usually arrives in minutes. When they send from Kite, we cover the gas and sending is free up to a daily limit. You then hold the value in dollars, spend it on your card, or spend it anywhere Visa is accepted.
Is my money safe with Kite?
Your wallet is non-custodial, secured with multi-party encryption (TSS-MPC), so only you can move your funds. We never take custody of your balance, you can back up with Google or Apple, and every fee is shown in the app before you confirm.
