Transaction limits & velocity limits
Kite applies transaction limits to help comply with financial regulations and keep the platform secure. Where a limit applies, you'll always see it in the app before confirming your transaction.
KYC requirements
You'll need to complete KYC before you can use most features, including:
- Sending crypto
- Using the Kite Card
- QR scan & pay
KYC is currently available only to residents of supported countries. See "Why Kite asks for KYC" to learn more.
Kite Card limits
The Kite Card currently supports:
- Spending: up to $50,000 or 50 transactions per day.
- Coming soon: ATM withdrawals will be available with the physical Kite Card. Limits and supported countries will be shared when the feature launches.
These limits reset daily at 12:00 AM UTC+8 (SGT). For more information, see "Kite Card fees & limits."
Crypto transfers
Receiving crypto
Receiving crypto is always free and has no transaction limits.
Sending crypto
Sending crypto is free up to your daily per-chain limit. Once you exceed the free limit on a particular blockchain, a flat Kite fee applies to each additional send on that chain.
- The fee varies by network.
- The applicable fee is shown before you confirm the transaction.
- The free allowance resets every day at 12:00 AM UTC.
See "Kite fees overview" for more information.
QR scan & pay
Payment limits vary by country:
- Vietnam, Philippines, Brazil, Colombia & Bolivia: Minimum $0.65 and maximum $500 per payment, with a daily limit of $1,500 and monthly limit of $50,000.
- Argentina & Peru: Minimum $1 and maximum $400 per payment, with a daily limit of $1,500 and monthly limit of $50,000.
Good to know
- Transaction limits may change over time as regulations evolve and Kite expands to new regions.
- Whenever a limit applies, the app will show the current limit before you confirm the transaction.
