Why limits exist (compliance + risk)
Kite applies transaction and card limits to help keep the platform secure and comply with financial regulations.
Meeting regulatory requirements
As a regulated financial service, Kite is required to help prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other financial crimes. Identity verification (KYC) and transaction limits are part of these regulatory requirements.
Protecting your account
Transaction limits add an extra layer of protection if your account is ever compromised. By limiting how much can be moved in a day, they help reduce potential losses and give you time to notice suspicious activity, freeze your card, or contact support.
Crypto transactions are irreversible
Unlike some traditional bank transfers, blockchain transactions can't be reversed. If funds are sent to the wrong address or as part of a scam, they generally can't be recovered. Transaction limits provide a safeguard by reducing the amount that can be transferred within a given period.
Limits may change
Transaction and card limits may change over time as regulations evolve and Kite expands to new regions and services. If a limit applies, you'll always see the current limit in the app before confirming your transaction. When limits change, we'll communicate the updates in the app and by email.
