KYC Failures: Common Reasons & Fixes

My KYC verification was rejected

If your KYC (identity verification) was rejected, don't worry, most issues can be resolved by submitting your documents again.

The most common reasons are unclear photos or mismatched information. However, some rejections, such as being under 18 or residing in an unsupported country, cannot be resolved through resubmission.

Common reasons for rejection

Your KYC may be rejected if:

  • Your ID photos are blurry, cropped, or low quality.
  • The name on your identity document doesn't exactly match your proof of address.
  • Your identity document has expired or expires within the next 6 months.
  • The liveness (selfie) check doesn't match your ID photo due to poor lighting or an obscured face.
  • You submitted an unsupported document type.
  • You are under 18 years of age.
  • You reside in an unsupported country.

How to fix it

If your rejection was caused by document quality or mismatched information, you can submit your KYC again.

For the best chance of approval:

  • Take photos in bright, even lighting.
  • Ensure all four corners of your ID are clearly visible.
  • Make sure your personal details match across all submitted documents.
  • Use an identity document that is valid for at least 6 more months.

When to contact support

If your KYC continues to be rejected after multiple attempts, or you're unsure why it failed, contact care@kiteapp.xyz using your registered email address and include:

  • Your registered email address or phone number
  • A brief description of the issue

Our support team can review your application and let you know what was flagged.

Note: Rejections due to age requirements (under 18) or residing in an unsupported country cannot be resolved by resubmitting your documents.
