Why Kite asks for KYC

What is KYC?

KYC (Know Your Customer) is the identity verification process required before you can use Kite Wallet and Kite Card features.

Why is KYC required?

KYC helps Kite comply with financial regulations in the countries where it operates. It also helps:

  • Prevent fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes
  • Protect the platform and its users
  • Enable Kite to legally issue and support the Kite Card through traditional payment networks

Although Kite is non-custodial and you control your wallet's private keys, Kite is still required to verify users to meet regulatory requirements.

Who can complete KYC?

KYC is available to residents of the following supported countries:

  • Australia
  • Japan
  • Malaysia
  • Philippines
  • Singapore

Residents or citizens of sanctioned countries are not eligible to use Kite.
