Changed phone/device: what happens to your wallet
No. Your funds are safe.
Your wallet exists on the blockchain, not on your phone. Getting a new device doesn't affect your wallet or your balance.
How to sign in on your new device
- Download the official Kite app on your new phone.
- Sign in using one of your existing login methods: Phone number + SMS OTP, Email + OTP, Google, or Apple.
- Once you're signed in, your wallet, balances, transaction history, and Kite Card will appear automatically.
There's nothing you need to transfer manually.
If you've lost access to your phone number
If you signed up with a phone number and no longer have access to it:
- If you have another sign-in method (such as Email + OTP, Google, or Apple), use that to access your account. Once you're signed in, contact Kite Support to update your phone number.
- If your phone number is your only sign-in method, contact your mobile carrier first. They may be able to restore your number.
- If your number can't be recovered, email care@kiteapp.xyz from your registered email address. We'll verify your identity before helping you update your phone number.
Good to know
- Before selling or giving away your old phone, sign out of the Kite app and factory reset the device.
- Your Kite wallet and Kite Card work across any device you sign in to.
- Your data syncs automatically, there's no need to back up or manually transfer your wallet when switching devices.
