Keeping your account safe

Your wallet is yours to protect. Following these best practices will help keep your account and funds safe.

Never share your OTP

  • Your one-time password (OTP) verifies your identity. Never share it with anyone.
  • Kite will never ask for your OTP by email, chat, or phone.

Verify wallet addresses

Before sending crypto:

  • Check the first 6 and last 6 characters of the recipient's wallet address.
  • If you're sending to a new address, consider sending a small test transaction first.

Remember: blockchain transactions are irreversible.

Download Kite only from official app stores

  • Always install Kite from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Avoid downloading APKs or apps from third-party websites, as they may be fraudulent.

Be cautious of phishing

Scammers may send fake emails, text messages, or websites that look like Kite to steal your login details.

Instead of clicking links in messages, open the Kite app directly or visit our official website.

Secure your device

Help protect your account by:

  • Using a strong device passcode or biometric authentication.
  • Keeping your phone's operating system up to date.
  • Installing the latest version of the Kite app.

Watch out for scams

Fraudsters often create a false sense of urgency with fake security alerts or requests for immediate action.

Take your time and verify any unexpected requests. Legitimate Kite support will never pressure you into sending funds or sharing verification codes.

Use official support channels

  • Only contact Kite Support through the app or by emailing care@kiteapp.xyz.
  • Be cautious of anyone claiming to represent Kite through unofficial channels.

Review your account regularly

  • Check your balances and transaction history from time to time.
  • If you notice anything you don't recognize, contact Kite Support immediately.

Remember: crypto transactions can't be reversed

  • Once you confirm a crypto transfer on the blockchain, it generally can't be cancelled or reversed.
  • Always review the recipient address, network, and amount before confirming a transaction.

Report suspicious activity

If you believe your account has been compromised or you notice suspicious activity, contact Kite Support as soon as possible so we can help secure your account.
