Card top up from USDC/USDT

Top up your Kite card from your USDC or USDT balance to convert stablecoins into spendable dollars on your card. Your wallet and card balances are separate, so top-ups move funds from wallet to card.

Steps

  1. Open the Card section in the Kite app and tap Top Up.
  2. Select your token and network. Choose USDC (on Base, Ethereum, or Polygon) or USDT (on Ethereum or Polygon).
  3. Enter the amount you'd like to add to your card in the selected token. The minimum top-up amount is 0.11 USD.
  4. Review the summary. Kite shows the amount leaving your wallet, the 0.53% top-up conversion fee, and the amount that will land on your card.
  5. Confirm and authenticate.
  6. Wait 5-10 minutes. Your card balance updates once the top-up settles. You'll see a Top-up entry in your Transactions tab.

Fees

A 0.53% conversion fee applies to card top-ups. Kite shows the fee and the final card amount before you confirm.

Good to know

  • You can top up any time, even from a $0 card balance.
  • Your wallet balance and card balance are separate. Only the card balance can be spent on card transactions.
  • If your card balance hasn't updated after a few minutes, check the Transactions tab for the top-up status.

Troubleshooting

If a top-up fails:

  • Check you have enough USDC or USDT in your wallet for the amount plus the conversion fee.
  • Try a smaller amount.

If your wallet balance went down but the card balance hasn't updated:

  • Give it a few minutes. Top-ups usually settle within 5-10 minutes.
  • Check the Transactions tab for the top-up status.
  • Refresh the card tab to fetch the latest balance.
