Acquirer

What crypto means by it

The merchant's side of a card payment. The acquirer signs the shop up, takes the payment in, and pays the shop out, keeping a cut on the way through.

Same word, same role. Your side has an issuer, the shop's side has an acquirer, and the network sits in the middle.
