Onchain transfers & deposits: how long it takes by network
Most crypto deposits arrive within a few minutes, but the exact time depends on the blockchain network and where you're sending funds from.
Confirmation times by network
- Base: under 1 minute
- Arbitrum One: under 1 minute
- Optimism: under 1 minute
- Polygon: 2-5 minutes
- BSC: 2-5 minutes
- Ethereum: 5-15 minutes
These are typical confirmation times after the transaction has been broadcast to the blockchain.
What can affect deposit times?
Network congestion
Transactions can take longer during periods of high network activity. Ethereum is typically the most affected, but delays can happen on any network.
Exchange processing
If you're depositing from a crypto exchange, the exchange may take additional time to process and broadcast your withdrawal before it appears on the blockchain. Depending on the exchange, this can add anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes.
When should I be concerned?
If 30 minutes or more have passed and a block explorer shows your transaction as confirmed, but the deposit still hasn't appeared in Kite:
- Pull down on your Wallet screen to refresh your balance.
- If the deposit still doesn't appear, email care@kiteapp.xyz with your transaction hash, the network used, the amount sent, and the sending wallet address.
