Sent to wrong address (can I reverse?)

No. Once a blockchain transaction is confirmed, it generally can't be reversed or cancelled. Neither Kite nor the blockchain network can undo a completed transaction.

Why can't it be reversed?

Kite is a non-custodial wallet, which means you control your funds.

When you send crypto, the transaction is submitted to the blockchain and, once confirmed, becomes permanent. Kite doesn't have the ability to cancel, reverse, or retrieve completed blockchain transactions.

Can my funds be recovered?

It depends on who received them.

If you sent funds to an exchange

Contact the exchange's support team and provide your transaction hash. Some exchanges may be able to help recover mistakenly sent funds, but this depends on their policies and whether they can verify your ownership.

If you sent funds to someone you know

Recovery is only possible if the recipient agrees to send the funds back.

If you sent funds to an unknown wallet

Unfortunately, the funds are generally not recoverable. Kite Support can't retrieve funds sent to the wrong wallet address.

How to avoid mistakes

Before sending crypto:

• Verify the entire wallet address, not just the first and last few characters. Some scams use lookalike addresses that share the same beginning and ending.
• If you're sending to another Kite user, use their Kite username or handle whenever possible.
• If you're sending to a new wallet, send a small test transaction first.
• After pasting an address, check it again before confirming. Malware can sometimes replace copied wallet addresses with a different one.
